Britain in Bloom is the largest horticultural campaign in Europe. Tetbury qualifies for the Heart of England region by virtue of geography and Small Towns by its size. After modest beginnings tetbury has achieved Gold for two years in two categories as well as Merit for another. In addition to creating and maintaining the various flower displays around the Town the committee also oragnises an annual gardening competition to celebrate local horticultural enthusiasm. The Tetbury in Bloom campaign is funded from a combination of a grant from the Town Council and donations together with the support of local businsses, societies and members of the public.

In 1633 the town of tetbury was sold by then owner Lord Berkeley to four local residents who were described as feoffees on the lgel bill of sale. This document also formalised The Thirteen, literally thirteen townsfold to serve as elected town wardens. Today The feofees have charitable status owning a number of sites in and around the town. They continue to this day as seven Feoffees, supported by The Thirteeen. They are custodians who work voluntarily for the good of Tetbury
